Peter Bellarby welcomes the announcement that the Scottish Government is to provide £2 million and Aberdeenshire Council £1 million for stabilising Bervie Braes10.00.00am GMT Sun 21st Mar 2010 Stonehaven and Lower Deeside Councillor, Peter Bellarby, has welcomed the announcement that the Scottish Government is to provide £2 million and Aberdeenshire Council £1 million for works to stabilise Bervie Braes in Stonehaven. Peter Bellarby said: "I am very pleased that a solution has been found for Bervie Braes. The residents who stay at the bottom of the Braes are delighted and so am I. Ever since the landslip last November I have been pressing the Scottish Government to provide funding and I am glad that they have responded. What we need now is for the work to be carried out as soon as possible and before next Winter so that the residents no longer have to be worried every time there is heavy rain."
